I’m getting tired of people blaming the government and everyone else for what has been going on with the economy lately. The honest truth is that we are all to blame. We went out buying homes that we shouldn’t have bought and got pissed when it all blew up in our faces.

Look, here’s the deal… Bad credit mortgages ruined our economy and we’re all to blame for that. If you can’t pay for a home without problems you shouldn’t be owning one. When the banks figured out that people couldn’t pay their bills all hell broke loose. What the freak does anyone expect? Now everyone’s complaining about the economy and how scary things are. Go ahead, ruin things some more, as if you already haven’t done enough.

The Walt Disney Company is going to build a new, 800 room resort on the island of Oahu. Disney will be calling the new resort by the name ‘Disney Vacation Club’. The company has picked up 21 acres of oceanfront land for the project that will be built in the south-wast corner of Oahu. The purchase price of the land was around $143 million.

Disney and Hawaii make a good couple, and it will be interesting to see how this non-theme-park venture will go. The President of the Disney Vacation Club (Jim Lewis) said “Hawaii is just an ideal location for us as we continue to venture outside of the theme-park berm, if you will.”

The project will begin construction early in 2008 and will be ready to open its doors sometime in 2011.

• The club will apparently only feature characters that fit with the geographic location, such as Lili and Stich, which was set in Hawaii.
• The Hawaii Disney Vacation Club will employ about 1,000 people.
• The resort will be Disney’s third stand alone, and first outside of Florida.
• Hawaii was chosen partly because of its Asian proximity

Robert Goulet is in a Los Angeles hospital awaiting a critical lung transplant, his wife told the associated press on Tuesday. What made Robert Goulet so sick? Apparently he’s suffering from pulmonary fibrosis, which is a very progressive and possibly fatal lung disease.

Goulet has been on a breathing tube for the last two weeks, and hasn’t been able to speak during that time. While speaking about a conversation she had with Robert before the tube was inserted, Robert’s wife said, “He said, ‘Just give me a new pair of lungs and I’ll hit the high notes until I’m 100.’”

Robert’s career as a singer and on-stage performer has gone on now for more than 55 years. His debut performance, Sir Lancelot in “Camelot”, was highly acclaimed and Robert’s career took off from there. He was a Grammy in 1965 for best new artist and a Tony in 1968 for his role in “The Happy Time.”

Our hearts go out to Robert Goulet and his family. Let’s hope that he’s able to receive the transplant he very much needs.

Shaw/Blades is a duo comprised of former Damn Yankees members Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades. The new band/duo is going to start a new tour that will start Nov. 7 in Petaluma, CA. The tour currently has 17 planned stops and will promote their ‘Influence’ album.

The duo will play 17 shows in thirty one days, concluding their tour in Nashville on December 8th. Apparenlty the duo will include a significant about of Damn Yankees, Styx, and Night Ranger songs into the mix for a nostalgic effect.

This should be a pretty fun show for those that were into Damn Yankees. Did anyone hit the show up during their recent tour in May? If so, we would love to hear about how it was.

Last week model Sarah Welch fell through the catwalk floor. Yeah, there happened to be an enormous hole in it. What the? They should have stopped the entire thing when a kung fu artist (what?) put the whole in the catwalk. Seconds later, here comes Sarah Wells who proceed to fall right through the whole.

Wouldn’t a responsible event manager run up there to stop her? Come on people, a model isn’t going to look down while she’s walking down the catwalk. Aren’t they taught not to? Sarah and her people should get together and sue the freak out of the event people because Sarah was injured in the fiasco. I feel bad for her and she deserves some compensation.
